Can you encode from .vob file to mpeg2 and keep 5.1 channel audio from video? If so what encoder will do it?

Umm...VOB and Mpeg-2 are the exact same Format so a VOB file "Is allready" and Mpeg-2 file with AC3 audio so you don"t need to convert it......

I had spend already all night searching at any possible forum or Google about a simple question.Putting 2-3 mini dvds in one standard DVD disc playable in standard set top DVD player.Just putting them together no extra editing required.Softwares that I already have in my pc are Nero 6.3, Adobe Encore DVD,Adobe Premiere 6.5, Ulead DVD movie factory 3.5, TMPGEnc 2.5, DVDlab,Allok video joiner,Flash DVD riper etc. Many of them were just installed in desperation but none of them will do the job.Ulead will end without sound and Nero will continuously restart my pc without readable reason any time I tried to add video files from the miniDVD.The funniest method I had heard was something like copy .VOB to hard drive, convert them to .AVI with a software than convert them to mpeg2 with another software and later author them with another software!!! It will be more easy capturing the video from the camcorder with a capture card and author it with Adobe Encore DVD which does not trascode at all in 720/576 PAL or in 720/480 NTSC.
Does egsist the software that any person with a minidvd camcorder will need? A simple 'add and transfer' software.

you could use DVD Shrink (free) and rip all the movies to hard drive, then use Reauthor mode to compile them into one and compress if necessary. You will not have any menus this way though. If you want menus, I suggest DVD Lab Pro although there are tons out there that will do it.

I do not have a fit problem.I don't need resizing or shrinking. So if a mini has 1.4gb and a my friend gived to me 6 of them, mathematically I realized that 3 or at last two of them will enter a standart DVD-5 disc without problem but there were something like 127 clips or more in one single miniDVD and every software that I tryied said that there is 99 chapters limit. All I need is how to get mpeg2 files from the minidvd and merge chapters under 99 limit without changing nothing in resolution or bitrate. No need for AVI files.

Shrink also can be used to compile, which is what I was intending really. The compression thing is just if you need it. But you cannot just dump a bunch of VOB files into a folder and expect a DVD player to read it.
Shrink will add them as different titlesets, meaning that when title 1 ends title 2 will start out at chapter 1. If you want to merge them as the same titleset you will need to reauthor. DVD Lab Pro is what I prefer for stuff like this, but there's tons more out there.

Does this method (DVD lab pro) include the terrible trascode process? I am free from it since I had installed Adobe Encore DVD which I use every day to create dvd form captured video.

DVD Lab Pro will re-encode. It doesn't make the files smaller (at least the one time I did it like that it didn't), so I don't think it'll affect the quality too much. I'm still pretty new in the authoring biz so I'm not 100% confident in this answer.

DVDLab Will "NOT Re-Encode" Because DVDLab doesn"t even Have an Encoder....
Like I said before VOB files are Mpeg-2 files so you can Simply Load the VOB files into your DVD authoring Program Like DVDLab and add your Menu"s and Chapters and Author to DVD....
I don"t really see what the Problem is??

I've used DVD Lab Pro to convert AVI to DVD. Doesn't that mean it will encode? Just questioning my own knowledge here.

Well you must be Talking about a Different program because i know For a fact that DVD lab doesn"t have an encoder and I know that it will not accept AVI files of any kind because it can not encode them...
I actually just Tried it just to be sure and It will not even see AVI files as Compatible Video files much less Load them as source Files.....
You must be talking about a different Program than I am.....

The problem is with too many (something like 300 chapters 20sec-30 secs each). How can them be merged in one or less chapters to arrive at 99 limit in minor time and without re encoding?
