pioneer dvr 109 failure to communicate error

Hi guys
Just got the DVR 109 and occasional i get the error "failure to communicate" when burning DVD. I have been using princo disks have updated the firmware to the latest. Also i have another DVD burner installed Diamond Data 4x. After searching on the net one site suggested going back to pio from DMA in IDE settings. Can anyone throw some light on this.

change your choice of media~ i have this same pioneer 109 and it HATES princo media...stay away from memorex too~ check my suggestions in my sig. go with TY and VERBs, you will not have this problem~ :)

good luck soro, feel free to PM if u need further assistance regarding the pioneer 109, that is my MAIN drive and i use it daily, so, with the pioneer 109 and my sony dru-710, i am always up to date w/ my firmware and i am very familiar w/ those 2 in particular~ :P

i use my nec and my liteon about once a week or so, but, im somewhat behind on those 2~ :)

media is USUALLY the problem when people have issues if the firmware is up to date~ good luck...
