just so u know, the minimum required card listed on the game box will not get you very far atall, guild wars has some pretty nice graphics so your going to need something quite powerful i think.

I would go for atleast a 9800 pro, if you can afford one.

The 9800 Pro is one of the best "bang for the buck" cards going right now. I'm still getting decent performance from mine with the likes of Half Life 2 and Doom 3 :)

I am really pleased with my 6800. Does anyone out there have an SLi system or one of these new 7800s or dual core AMDs yet?

My Far Cry is maxxed out & runs 60-150fps @ 4x AA & 4xAF. Looks pretty sweet!

I wish I could afford to make my next PC. Could & would spend a fortune!

Pulsar

Quite a demanding initial post me thinks!!!!!
A budget would help, instead of the standard "where & what is a cheap card?" syndrome.

Get the best video card you can afford as getting a cheap card will ruin your gaming experience..... The 9800PRO is a good card but the 6600GT is faster and has shader model 3 and is about the same price also will overclock really well if you desire, the 6800le is a good card but is not as fast as a 6600GT @ stock, but should soft mod to 12 pipes pos 16 pipes if your lucky

the rest of your system is pretty good so it would let it down if you got a cheap graphics card.

maybe you could do with an extra 512 of ram which isn't expensive.

My card is actually an LE, rivatuned to 16 pixel pipelines & all but one vertex shader.

Kicks ass!

You need to spend as much as poss, you will be a lot happier in the long run. Personally, I prefer Nvidia chipset cards, the driver support seems to be better with Nvidia than ATi.
As Neph says, the 9800 pro is a very nice & capable card.

Whatever card you get, you will need to experiment with drivers to find the ones that suit your requirements the best.

$600 ain't exactly cheap, and i thought the new Nvidia 7800GTX was the best card out @ the moment....9800PRO/6600GT are about $170 6800le about $230, these are kinda like the best bang per buck mid range cards around and will make gaming much more enjoyable

I would love to run dual SLI 6800 or 7800GT!!!!! It's just kind of hard for me right now because I can't afford to buy the first card....LOL I'm happy with the midrange 6600 card i've got right now, this midrange card does extremely well for me in games like FarCry and Doom...Maybe for my birthday I'll tell my wife that dual 7800GTX cards are required to run Tetris.......otherwise it runs choppy!!
