Nero wont burn dvd-r (data cd)

hi
when i go to burn a dvd-r (data cd) with nero it comes up with
"creating a multi sesion disk continue? yes/no"
and no matter which i choose it comes up with an error saying
"there has been errors wich could corupt the dvd-r continue?" and theres a timer counting down till it cancels if i click yes it corupts the DVD about 3% into burning.

my specs are:
matshita dvd-ram
nero version 5.5.9.17
dvd-r - bulkpaq generation 3
