well first off you need to give people time to answer you.
Second it depends on the game and what kind of patch you are talking about. Online patches or patches to get games to work with swwap magic. Some patches are PPF files. You can patch the game using a program called PPF-O-Matic.
Other patches, like the one for Mercenaries, just get downloaded and unzipped. then you copy it into the file where your ISO is and run it. This one just rebuilds the ISO for you so you don't have to do it manually.
Provide some more information and i am sure you will get some help.
1.what game are you trying to patch and why.
2. What do you use to play back ups (Swap Magic, modchip)
95% of the games out there do not ned a patch
