Psychonauts can ork with Swap Magic... but has tuns of problems. some people say that the loading times are slow and that during a video there is no sound. one guy said that most of the problems happen at the middle of the game. I am not shure if Hd adavance works with it. I hope some one can find out if it works on HDA.
--UPDATE--
Ps2 NFO has confirmed that Psychonauts DOES NOT work with HDA. THIS SUCKS!

I hope there is a way to get this game working properly for swap magic. It's a great game, but my backup has terrible load times making the copy useless. If anyone gets new info on backing up this game please pass it along.

Has anyone made a successful backup of this game that works with swap magic 3.3 or higher? If so what method to get it working did you use?

My copy has very long load time, and the audio is out of whack. I burned it on the slowest speed with DVD Decrypter, using TDK brand media - TTG02. Also I am using swap magic 3.3. I know some people have had this same problem, but it has me stumped on how to fix it.

Just an update, I rebuilt the iso and now the game runs perfect. Anyone having trouble getting it to run using Swap Magic, rebuild the game and try it again. Worked for me!

hey nicknjess , when u rebuild it, wich program did u use to burn it ? because when i wanted to make a new iso with Nero it said that ISO didn't support files bigger than 3 gig :S

thanks hursty, the only thing is when i rebuild it in ISo buster , it doesn't get smaller , neither does it when i move it to another folder... so what would be the purpouse of rebuilding, when it isnt getting smaller ?
im gonna try nevertheless, thanks!

yes,i have just checked the TOC of this game,a rebuild is not required
its only 3.27 gb
so it should work with swapmagic,
skipping,poor loading etc is probably caused by unsuitable media,or a dirty laser,or maybe burning too slow,yes,i said too sloooow
try burning at x 4

Just some info on my burn, it doesn't seem to address most of the other problems, but I have Swap Magic 2.0 and I load the game up with DVDLoader V7 and everything goes beautifully. I'm more than halfway done with the game and I haven't had any serious load times or missing audio. I burned with Alcohol 120% on a Sony DVD+R and play on my V7 PS2.

yeah that's the problem i had with cold fear i burned it a t 2,5 , ill try burning it at 4 speed , ill let you know the outcome.
btw i use Verbatim as my media..

yup that solved the problem , pretty weird. so to every one, burn it at 4 speed ! hursty , why not burn every game at 4 speed?

Hey Hursty could you explain why burning slow can cause problems because I can't of a reason why it works but it does.

i have said this before and i will say it again,
i always burn at x 4,it just seems to suit my set-up,
i have never burned any slower or faster than that
as for the reasoning behind it,thats something i cannot answer,its just down to my experiences from the games that i have burned

I burn everything at 4X anyway. It solves numerous problems with burning on nearly all the games I've tried to copy

Like I said before the media it self my suggest not burning at 2.4 for there maybe problems...
So 4 is best

i tried all media, verbatim, tdk, even taiyo's
is there anyway to fix this skipping? its terrible, some of the animations dont play at all and the audio is crazy
i have v5 ps2 using verbatim, taiyo yuden DVD+R media
burning at 2.4x dvd decrypter
Currently playing
MGS 3, Psychonauts, DMC 3, NBA street v3.

Try reading the thread first! burn at 4X not at 2.4X because most burners and media don't like that speed Quote:

Solidus90: I know that hursty said earlier that a rebuild was not necessary, and I can't explain why it should make a difference. But, after I rebuilt the game using the same media and burn speed (TDK, 2x speed)the game now runs perfectly. If you haven't tried rebuilding it yet, and nothing else is working, it's worth a try. Who knows though maybe it is the laser?
