I am trying to copy the second dvd of the Deadwood set and it gets to 67% and locks up and continues to try and read it. I have tried EVERYTHING and it will not copy or rip. The same thing happened with the OZ dvd set on the second dvd in the same place. Anybody know of anything special they do to the box sets because it says there is no ccs protection or anything else on the dvd. 1 & 3 copy fine and physically there is nothing wrong with the dvd. Any help would be appreciated

sounds like you got a bad disk. I backed up the whole Deadwood season one with AnyDVD (now an old version) and dvdshrink a few months back without a hitch. Sometimes a weird pressing error keeps you from backing a disk up although it plays just fine when you watch it

I cleaned the disk and tried DVD Shrink again and it gets to 67% and says dvd error (cyclic redundancy error. :(

As stated above more than likely you have a bad disk, CRC errors are 99% of the time the result of a dirty, scratched, smudged or damaged disk. You can try using DVD Decrypter to rip to your hardrive to see if this might work, otherwise take it back and get another original :~)

I am having the same prob. for me stops at 67% on disk 4 only. seems to be with same file. this is a new DVD set. i finally just gave up. strange. never used AnyDVD. Using DVD4Free, DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink

I've backed up my copy of Deadwood...ALL discs. No problems here...Rip to HD w/DVD Decrypter and go from there...that should solve your problem

No problems here also with Deadwood. AnyDVD and Recode.
flix8ed - if decrypter couldn't do it my guess would be a bad press. You can always exchange it for another one.

Aky, been there with DVD Decrypter and it stops at 67% every time, but thanks. Binkie,will check out AnyDVD and see what happens. Used someone else disk4 and same thing w/DVD Decrypter which surprised me cuz i also thought could be a bad press. Aky,noticed u use TY 8X DVD+Rs. Simply the best IMO. I switched from Sony to Plextor 708 and 716A. Now the 8X DVD+Rs burn at 16X =) I also use the Plextor708 which burns my 4X DVD+Rs at 8X saving me big on DVDs. I dont know what other burners the TYs burn faster on.

fix8ed-What is the exact error you get with Decrypter? Please post the full error message and we'll go from there. I find it odd that your problem is disc 4 and bluz's error is with disc 2. As for the TY's you can't beat 'em. I only burn at 4x max so I'll stick with my Sony burner.
