No it wont read the swap magic disc when the lid is open...heres what we know so far, we are on to something. Its tool C, because thats what tells the lid sensor to be over or w/e...anyways in the demo it shows him putting it between the 2 hinges and in 2 other manuals we read it shows the tool right where we put it..we also tried to take it out but its impossible the top is all messed up and we cant get it out.

that was a demo for magic switch pro.it does basically the same thing your tool does but the application might be different or it might be the same?i just wanted to show you how you are suppose to use the swap magic discs.it would be the same way for all slim tools.

yeah, and one of your sensors isnt covered properly.they are suppose to make the ps2 think the lid is closed when it is really opened.and the wedge peice may push down a button senor.to tell you the truth i dont know what that wedge peice does.i know you need all three peices for it to work.the only function of the slim tool is to fool the ps2 into thinking the lid is closed all the time.that is why you cant boot up swap magic with the lid open.and you need to do that.

Tool C is for blocking the sensor from detecting the lid is open..
The problem is we dont know where it goes for sure since the demo shows a different area or looks to be a different area then where we put it when we read the manual. We did it the manual way and now we cant really take it out so thats our problem..how to take it out and if its the right spot.

go with the manual.the magic switch is a different product but it looks like it goes in the same place as yours.the manual said you might have to move tool c up with a screwdriver alittle bit then try to push down somemore.it sounds like it needs to ne seated better.i dont have a slim tool but you could start a new thread and name it something like need help installing slim tools.somebody with more hands on experience could help you out.burn help is too vague of a topic for people to respond.

Bhavin, easiest way is to open up your PS2 and cover the sensor C with a bit of tape.

Ok I opened up my PS2, broke the seal, I was sad. Then when I opened the PS2 that piece fell out...I was sadder. I taped the sensor anyways with duct tape and screwed the PS2 back together without that little piece and BAM, it works lol. I can now swap discs annd play!!! Thanks everyone here at afterdawn for helping me.
