...to dvd format and when i get to the last screen before encoding, as seen on this page http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_avi_to_dvd_page_4.cfm , even if i lower the average video bitrate to 2000 (the lowest it lets me go), my file size is 134.14%. my avi file isn't big, i dont know why it wont fit under 4.7 gig size. what can i do to ?
I know nothing on compression, but I guess that one was just too large period :)
I have read a few messages here of people trying to shrink some DVD (Episodes specially) since they put so much stuff on the DVD, you just can't get it to shrink enought.
I usually convert about 700 Mb AVI files, and they always end up 2.5 Gb using DivXtoDVD. Give it a shot, maybe this one will convert it differently and it might fit ?
I just used TMPGEnc (that is what you're using right?) to convert an 800MB AVI to DVD and it came out about 4.2GB. I think it may all depend on the codecs used to make the AVI in the first place. I also did the same file using Divx2DVD and it came out about 2GB or so. I'm hoping that TMPGEnc will produce better quality with that extra 2GB used.
