is swap magic 3.6 the best?

hi, i have been away for a while...now i am back...i did some reading here about the new swap magic 3.6 kits...
i wanted to ask you that have the 3.6 version...is this stil the best option out there for backing up ps2 games without modding with a chip?
also...with the version 3.6...what brand, cd type, dvd type (-r,+r...), and burning speed that you guys have been using without any problems?
any information would be appreciated...
* i am thinking about getting the 3.6...and some dvds/cds...

Brannd:MAXELL DVD-R, TDK DVD-R, VERBATIM DVD-/+R, "DO NOT BUY MEMOREX". Burning speed:LOWEST1x, or 2x. I would go with MAXELL DVD-R and CD-R. I have Swap Magic 3.3 and I never have any problems. But some games need to be rebuilt or patched. You can check out this site http://www.swapmagicfix.com/ for games that need to be patched or rebuilt in order to play it using Swap Magic Discs.

3.6 is the latest and the greatest, 3.3 and 3.6? are basically the same from what i understand but 3.6 has the little extra updates for newer games or somehting but both are basically the same...anything in the 2's will require dvd loader for some games and such...also best thing about swap magic is online play for backups...i love it
for cd's i havent used but i have a bunch of sony cd-r's which i bet work great...as for dvd-s, i used verbatim and they worked good for some games, i used maxel(ritek g05) and they worked good for games that didnt work on my verbatims, and i just picked up sony dvd-r's and they worked on games i couldnt get to work on the maxells or verbatims...so i would try to get sony dvd-r's but get a 5 pack of a few different brands to see what works best, some peopel say burn at 1x or 4 x, i did burn at 4 x at first then i just tried 1x and it works good too...so i guess if u wanna wait a little longer for a higher quality burn go 1x

thank you all for your input. one more question if you don't mind...someone mention here that some games will require a loader cd? what do you mean by that?
i thought i only had to buy the swap magic and the flip top cover...and make sure to get some good dvds and burn on 1x...and i was also aware of some patching on certain games...
so what is up with this loader that i need to get?

As of 3.3, Swap Magic fixes were a thing of the past, 3.3+ don't require any fixes.

actually 3.6 is better then 3.3(not exactly the same).i couldnt play splinter cell pandora or champions rta on 3.3(you need cd loader for those).but 3.6 played them without the cdloader.

swap magic 3.6 is definitely the best
best dvd brands--definitely choose sony, verbatim, and maxwell(maybe tdk) these are definitely the best media

How you gon tell me if I have SM 3.3. Some games still need some patching or rebuilt.

i have 3.6, and havnt had to patch anything, but i have heard that people still have had to, so i think serranox3 mite be right..but this is what i have herd

3.6 aint perfect but comparitively speaking it is the best version of swap magic.some games with very large sizes(mostly over 4.3gb) are gonna have to be made smaller no matter which verion of swap magic you use.but for example the size of splinter cell pandora wasnt large but still didnt play on 3.3.i mean you need cdloader and i think another program on top of that to get it to work with 3.3.i borrowed 3.6 and the backup booted up with no problem(no extra programs).
it doesnt really matter if you are going to buy swap magic brand new.i havent seen anybody selling 2.0 and 3.3 is moving out of the way for 3.6.so youll mostly find 3.6 being sold anyway.

ok so...what is the purpose of the cd loader? i guess here is where i am getting confused...it seems that by reading what you guys wrote and some other people...it it seems that cd loader is necessary to use it with swap magic 3.6 on certain game3s?
anyhow...what is cd loader? what is the purpose of it? can somebody explain to me what it does? please?

Well i use 3.6 i never used 3.3 . But 3.6 works with like 99 percent of the games i tried lol. Also if seems to be the cheapest too. Also i never patched anything yet. so definately go for 3.6 plus! Al;so cd loader is a software that lets you play more games on the swap magic. For example it lets you play games that would need patches with out patches. Its confusing for me a little to explain . you can get it from www.sksapps.com with dvdloader if you need that.

hey ps2crack, i the links for the dvd loader and the cd loader on that site weren't working for me...other links were...
so...cd loader...i can actually find it out there online? i don't have to buy it like the swap magic discs?
i understand that the swap magic discs are burned pressed just like ps2 games...that is why we can't find the swap magic programs out there on the net...
is it the same with cd loader?

you use cdloader with swap magic to get some games thatdont work to work.mostly older versions of swap magic need it.3.3 rarely needs it and 3.6 hasnt needed it yet(maybe in the future it will?).its free,mostly because it is worthless without swapmagic.you back it up to cd or dvd depending on which loader you get.then you use swap magic to boot it up.

so i guess hursty's link is for the cd loader and the dvd loader, correct?
i already downloaded them...so i guess i burn the cd loader on a cd media, a a dvd loader on a dvd media, correct? i read there that they have to be separate...
one more question if you guys don't mind...hursty, that site you gave me...is that a good site to keep in mind for future versions of the cd/dvd loader? i am assuming at this point v7 is the latest version, right?
