Ive got a problem when i use recode.I had AnyDVD running in background used disc to disc mode in recode.everything went fine it seemed. burn went good.put it in my stand alone player it starts at the main menu when i push play it plays when i hit chapter forward it locks up and i have to turn the power off it just freezes i cant do anything frozen with the frame stuck on the screen. this has happened on two movies. on of them i backed up with anydvd in the back ground and dvd shrink. then used recode to burn same problem I then went back to shrink reauthor just movie burn with Nero 5.5 no problem. any ideas on the lock up would be great !!!!

What brand of media are you using and what speed are you burning at?

I was burning at 2x using tdk dvd-r always had good luck and compusa house brand which always work great problem happened with both media types.

Are you using burn at once instead of letting Recode temporarily put the structure to your hardrive, because this can cause burn errors. I use AnyDVD with Recode a fair amount of the time, and have had no problems with the two programs working together.

I agree with Arniebear - don't click on the burn at once option. This can cuase problems. I use AnyDVD and Recode about 99% of the time and do not have any problems.
The discs you are using could be the source of your problem. TDK is not known as good media. CompUsa brand is probably even worse.
What's the manufacture id on your discs?

i had heard TDK is pretty good me and alot of my friends use it and had good really good luck ive even read that here on afterdawn. now on compusa your probably right i think it mfg is pcinco ill have to verify this when i get home i know it is something like that but again i have had really good luck with them and i again i have seen other members bragging about them but for some reason i dont think my problem has anything to do with media i think it is the way recode shrinks the menu's or the the structure of have it lays it one the disk i have done over 300 backups and never seen this problem until i used recode.

As I stated I have not had any problem with Recode, it works exactly the same way as Shrink only it is faster. Try doing the movie only and do not use the burn at once, and see if this works. Make sure you set your target size at 4364 and burn at 4x. Also make sure your burner firmware is up to date. CompUSA disks are made by Princo, and I have never had good luck with them, TDK is average but not that bad of a media.
