I can´t see the subtitles

Hi... I´ve just added some subtitles to a movie, but I can´t see them. If I set the player to 16:9, the screen shrinks the picture and the subtitles appear, but if I set it to full screen, the picture appears undeformed in the letterbox but without any subtitles.

I´ve tried everything, so any tip is welcome.

Here´s how I did it.
DVD Decrypter - I extracted the mv2 and ac3 streams from the DVD
Subtitle Workshop - write down the subtitles and create the .sub file
DVD Lab - Inserted the subtitles and mix the whole thing
IFO Updtae - updated the IFO and BUP
Copy / Paste replacing the old files for the new ones.

I´ve done this several times with a bunch of DVDs and this is the first time it fails.

So... what do you think I´m doing wrong??

It sounds to me like the movie is in widescreen format (16:9)

yes, the movie is 16:9, but I´ve added subtitles to other widescreen movies with this method, and they work. Widescreen or fullscreen, you can see the subtitles. But not with this one.
