I have an ATI Radeon 9800 All-in-Wonder Pro 128MB video card, had it for about 3 months now, and recently I've been getting messages upon bootup that "Power cable is not connected to your video card." I have to shut down the PC and remove the card and put it back in to get the computer to bootup. So far I've had to do this about 5 times within the last 3 days or so. Any ideas??

I have the 9800 Pro, but not the AIW model. Try a different power lead, if you have one available. Make sure that it is snugly plugged into the card.

the card does use a power line from the power supply, and I'm not sure if there's another one I could use but I will check that out and if it's available I will use it. I've reseated the card many times already, I'm sure it's plugged in all the way. Doesn't look dirty either, no components look fried or anything.

450W, my roommate should be getting his new PSU soon so I'll probably give that a shot, although I think it's smaller than mine.

I suppose that could be it. That sucks too cuz it's a cool PSU, you just plug in the power cables you need, that way you don't have a ton of wires from your PSU. I'll see what I can do about that one.

I'll try, but I don't know anyone besides people I work with that have AGP cards. I'll check around though.

Try swapping a plug to one of your opticals, and see if that cures the problem. If you have problems with the optical, and not with the video card, then you know the power cable is bad. If you still have problems with the vid card, then the vid card may be bad, but it still may not eliminate the possibility that your PS may be on its way out.

@grandpabw: I wish I could swap the cable with one of my optical drives' cables, but the vid card takes a diff cable. I think it's a 5V, it's the same one as a floppy drive.
