I burned my back-up (NTSC) of Fantastic Four last night and so far it runs perfect on my PS2 V7. The media I used was SONY DVD-R (just use whatever works best for the DVD burner that you have) and I used DVD DECRYPTER to both save the ISO file to my computer's desktop, then to burn it to the DVD-R. I burn all my games at 2x speed. I seem to get the best results at the slowest speed, but again, whatever works for you!

O.K. Here's what you'll need to boot the game, once you've buned it to a DVD-R using DVD DECRYPTER.

1.) DVD COGSWAPLOADER - I'm not exactly sure where I downloaded this file, but with some searching you should be able to find it. Once you download it and unzip it, burn it onto a DVD-R. (There is also a CD COGSWAPLOADER but I've had better luck with the DVD one).

2.) DEVIL MAY CRY PS2 GAME - this is the first game in the series. I think the're up to #3 now! I bought my copy used from Electronic Boutique for $10.00. You need to use this game because of it's high TOC (Table Of Contents).

3.) SWAP MAGIC DVD DISC - the version I have is the old one 2.0 but the newer ones probably work too.

Here's what to do: (by the way, this is for the FLIPTOP METHOD)

1.) INSERT YOUR SWAP MAGIC DVD 2.0 DISC
2.) WHEN YOU SEE ON THE SCREEN "INSERT DISC", USE THE FLIPTOP TO PUT IN THE DVD COGSWAPLOADER DISC THAT YOU BURNED. CLOSE THE LID, PRESS X.
3.) PRESS THE EJECT BUTTON TO OPEN THE TRAY.
4.) PUT IN DEVIL MAY CRY GAME, PRESS THE EJECT BUTTON TO CLOSE THE TRAY.
5.) PRESS X
6.) USING THE FLIPTOP, TAKE OUT THE DEVIL MAY CRY GAME AND INSERT YOUR SWAP MAGIC DVD 2.0 DISC. CLOSE THE LID.
7.) PRESS X
8.) USING THE FLIPTOP, TAKE OUT YOUR SWAP MAGIC 2.0 DVD DISC AND INSERT YOUR BURNED COPY OF FANTASTIC FOUR.
9.) PRESS X
10.) THE GAME SHOULD NOW LOAD......ENJOY!

or you can just simply rebuild it,to reduce the TOC to around 3 gb
then there is no need for a toc refresh

I rebuilt the iso, but when I do what the guide says and make a UDF/ISO DVD but it won't accept the DATA saying it is over 2GBs.

I don't see how the CD CogSwapLoader shouldn't work. Considering the the TOC Refresh is done in the end by CogSwapLoader and not by SM 2.0, you should be able to make it work without a problem by using the CD version.

Also, what use is there in reswapping back to SM? Can't you just load Fantastic Four from CogSwapLoader directly? I'd try it out but I don't have access to an original right now. But I don't really see anything keeping you from loading the game without reswapping back from CogSwapLoader to SwapMagic.

So, try doing it this way:

1.) INSERT YOUR SWAP MAGIC CD 2.0 DISC
2.) WHEN YOU SEE ON THE SCREEN "INSERT DISC", USE THE FLIPTOP TO PUT IN THE CD COGSWAPLOADER DISC THAT YOU BURNED. CLOSE THE LID, PRESS X.
3.) PRESS THE EJECT BUTTON TO OPEN THE TRAY.
4.) PUT IN DEVIL MAY CRY GAME, PRESS THE EJECT BUTTON TO CLOSE THE TRAY.
5.) PRESS O
6.) USING THE FLIPTOP, TAKE OUT THE DEVIL MAY CRY GAME AND INSERT YOUR BURNED COPY OF FANTASTIC FOUR. CLOSE THE LID.
7.) PRESS X
8.) THE GAME SHOULD NOW LOAD......ENJOY!

It's basically the same thing. Though instead of using the DVD versions, you use the CD versions of SwapMagic and CogSwapLoader. You can find the CogSwapLoader CD version @ www.swapmagicfix.com

Hursty,
I've taken a look at your guide and I'm totally confused. First off, there doesn't seem to be much in the iso. There are a bunch of empty folders and a DATA_P.FS that is 3.06gb. So how am I supposed to rebuild this one? Any and all help in this matter would be GREATLY appreciated. :)

It's Fantastic Four. I'm in the process now of ripping all the files out of the DATA_P.FS. But after that I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do

you should not open any folders that are listed in isobuster
the list on the right hand side of isobuster should be left as it is,
just drag them over to a new folder in the order they appear

eventhough all the folders are empty? Also, there isn't any kind of dummy file either. Or could I use Munge-o-Matic? I've looked at it but am at a loss with that also. ;)

yes, but your tutorial says that you have to create a new dummy.bin but this game doesn't seem to have one. just one huge DATA_P.FS file

that tutorail is based on sonic heroes!!!!(which contains a dummy bin)
just ignor the dummy bin part,as you dont need to be concerned about that
just check the size of the file before and after you extract it,
see if there is any difference

put the game in the drive and right on properties to see what the size of the "whole" game is,
then when you drag all the contents from isobuster into a new folder,
right click on the folder and see what size it is now

for example,i have a copy of fifa street (which i have just posted a pic on another thread),
the copy is "not" rebuilt,...the size is 4.37 gb.....
when i open up the image with isobuster, and drag all the files and folders over to a new folder, the size has ben reduced to 1.65 gb
it has removed all the "false details" contained in the game, details which "beef" up the size,to make the game difficult to boot with swapmagic

the actual use of such false info/dummy files is in actual fact to make the game play faster when loading off an original.,but its a royal pain in the ass for swapmagic users,
but the game manufactures are not going to stop doing this all because people like us want to copy there games without any hassle are they?

alright, the dvd, 'not' rebuilt is 4.37gb and the folder I extracted to is 3.07gb. So hopefully I'll be able to follow your tutorial and rebuild this puppy. :)

has the rebuilt version got a single file over "2gb's"???

if it hasnt, you can drop them into Nero burning rom (udf/iso option)
its easier..

if you have nero(burning rom),just give it a go

Hi, I read that you extracted the ISO with DVD Decrypter. I'm doing that, but when it's on 20% I get an I/O error. Any ideas?

if you are tring to create an iso with DVD Decrypter and get an error when reading it,the disk is dirty or damaged
