Sorry if there's already a thread about this, but I've been searching for a while and couldn't find any. Anyway I had a PS2 with fliptop cover and swapdisks but now my playstation is broken beyond repair. I was thinking of buying a slimline PS2 and I was wondering can I use my swap disks on it without buying a new fliptop cover. I've heard you can glue the sensors down or cover them with tape. I don't know anyone who owns a slimline ps2 so I cant check this out myself. If anyone knows a tutorial about this or a thread please let me know.

i just bought a slimline ps2 and put a fliptop on it which was quite simple. I would recommend just putting a fliptop on, afterall it only costs about $10. It is true that you can cover the sensors on the slimline ps2, i believe it is called a ghost switch, but after looking at installation methods it seems like the fliptop is just as easy. i know for a fact swapmagic workd with the slimline fliptop. check out consolepoint.com for info on your options.

save your money and buy a premodded system with a good mod chip
like a DMS4 (Pro or Lite) or Matrix Infinity with laser fix of course on either one
They are so much easier than Swap Magic and in the long run will actually be cheaper.
(...............waits for many negative replies about my opinion)

But when the replies do come i can explain it all in much deatil as to why it is the way to go.
Or you could buy a DMS4 EZI which is a solderless mod chip that can do all the same things as the soldered in type.
And it would not cost much more than swap magic discs and a slim tool.
