until last week i´ve burned all my ps2 games into verbatim and ritek G05 discs and i was not happy with them(i had a LG GSA-4040b). rathcet and clank had freezing movies and i couldn´t never have a good performance in games like gta, burnout 3 (textures loagind too slow...). so i buyed a new burner : A PIONEER DVR-109. until now i´ve only burned ratchet and clank because of the movies and it is great. i can only burn them at 4x. Now the question: how do i do to make it burn at 2x? i´ve heard it is worst than burning at 4x with this burners. can´t i test them to see the difference? maybe making a read tesT? thanks

i must admit i have burnt my last 3 games (tekken 5, fifa 2005, mercenaries) at 4x with no probs at all my burner is a lite on

thanks for the repply reckless2. i´d just like to know if 2x burned games with other burners is better burned than 4x with this new fast generation of burners. and when 30x dvds burners come out will be better to have one that only burns 2x and 4x.

i´ve burned gta:sa (ritek G04, G05, verbatim dv+r) in my new recording burner and i´m with some problems... i´ve never experienced dre but the textures are loading slow. if i drive too fast the ground will disappear... i don´t know what´s the problem. i´ve burned at 4x since i can´t burn 2x/1x with this burner. hope for an answer thanks.

they say burning at a slower speed just gives you better quality, and i would agree with that.
But i have had 4X work just fine many times.
I leave DVD Decrypter set to the default 1X, and usually only change it if the disc has problems, which is just about never.
Having good media is more important for good back ups than the speed you burn at. I do not know much about Ritek G05, but i have heard many good things about the Ritek G04

what program do you burn with, if it is not DVD Decrypter visit the software section here and get it and give it a try. I had no problems backing up San Andreas
Used Philips 8X DVD-R and set DVD Decrypter to the default 1X burn speed.

burned with dvddecryptor, alcohol and Nero. burned in riteks, verbatim and princo. phillips is good? my friend has it to but it is not the best but is something.

and i forgot... i´d like to burn slow speed but the burner dowsn´t let me burn below 4x

sorry for bothering you all... probably i´ve burned into fake ritek disc but i thought there wasn´t verbatim fakes. althouth i´ve burned into a budget and gta plays nicier than with the others.
