smap magic is letting me play my ps2 backups . and its supposed to allow me to play ps2 imports . Is there anyway i can get it to play my pal movie dvds ? im in the usa and whenever i try to play my pal dvds it says not ps2 disc .

try this.....

turn ur PS2 on with the Swap Magic CD in it (the one for CDs, not dvds)
let it load... then eject it... EJECT (dont use ur flip top) and insert the Swap Magic DVD . after doing so... select video mode to NTSC, then go to load program and hit ur SQUARE button (special boot) it should take u to the INSERT DISC screen of the dvdswap magic, and now u use the FLIP TOP (or any other device, WITHOUT ejecting regularly) and insert ur PAL movie... it should work (it works with PAL games... never tried with movies though... should be the same.)

Im using swap magic 3.6 with the magic switch . do i restart after using the swap magic cd ? put in the dvd swap and press power ? or just put in the dvd swap and press load disc without touching the power button ? I tried the first way i mentioned and when i pressed the square button it loaded but came back to the same screen it started from . and woudnt play the pal dvd

u dont press reset... u insert the CD version of swap magic...

then EJECT and insert DVD version of swapmagic. THEN, select NTSC video and press Square(try X also if Square dont work) then it will take it to the INSERT DISC SCREEN (of the dvd swap magic version) NOW you use ur FLIP TOP , or slide card... and insert the movie. and press X
