Hi Everyone.
Does anyone have any suggestions on any anonymous p2p applications. I use Piolet (Similar To Blubster) which claims anonymity but a lot of other forums on this topic say they aren't. I've Tries 'mute' and 'ants' but they're s$$$. I wondered if any of you knew any.
Thanks

I'm sorry to say this, but I doubt that there is one. When downloading files, you end up giving the person your ip address for the download, thus making it not anonymous. I don't think it is possible right now to make one. Think of it in terms of real world addresses. Say you want some mail. You address is basically your ip, and you can't lie about where you are or else you won't get it. It is possible to use a server and control this, but they would prolly get sued.

OMG LOOK ^^
people can say thank you, and newbies can help newbies !!!
thanks for restoring my faith in human nature :)
- EDIT -
Just for the record, even those companies that would charge you for anonymous surfing, would hand over your details in a second if the authorities came knockin on their door.

Very true! ISP's do it all the time now. Some people like to use proxy servers to go and grap p2p files.

I use Blubster, and I must say It's one of the fastest P2P programs I've ever used.
The only reason I use it is for the anonymity. However I would prefer a better sharing not just music, I'd rather one like LimeWire PRO or something.

Hi,
Found this recently:
http://www.zultrax.com/index.htm They claim encryption, proxy, anonimity, non registry installation.
Any known ways to test these claims?

I doubt it. Remember you still show your IP address when you download something. Even if you use a proxy that can be traced to. Even peer guardian has a flaw, they can just use an IP address that is not on the list of banned ip addresses. The bottom line is you do take a very small risk downloading p2p files. But with millions of people sharing, the chances of you getting sued are less then .000000000000000001 percent. Well something like that.

WASTE
WASTE is an anonymous, secure, and encryped collaboration tool which allows users to both share ideas through the chat interface and share data through the download system. WASTE is RSA secured, and has been hearalded as the most secure P2P connection protocol currently in development.
WASTE is a software product and protocol that enables secure distributed communication for small (on the order of 10-50 nodes) trusted groups of users.
WASTE is designed to enable small companies and small teams within larger companies to easily communicate and collaborate in a secure and efficient fashion, independent of physical network topology.
WASTE uses a distributed architecture that allows for nodes to connect in a partial mesh type network. Nodes on the network can broadcast and route traffic. Nodes that are not publicly accessible or on slow links can choose not to route traffic. This network is built such that all services utilize the network, so firewall issues become moot. more information.
WASTE uses link-level encryption to secure links, and public keys for authentication. RSA is used for session key exchange and authentication, and the links are encrypted using Blowfish in PCBC mode.

somehow you can be anonymous combining your p2p client with either TOR or i2p. though i find ToR more reliable but considering its inherent architecture, expect a slow file transfer. it seems speed is sacrificed vis a vis being anonymous.
my personal solution is indeed to have my own private network like DC++ but considering its not totally decentralized for it needs a server. So as of now i have several private mesh using WASTE and within that network we can do anything we like share infos ..etc. and within it we have bitcomet or azurues due to that fact its trackerless.
you can test or try WASTE with our public mesh...after you and your friends familiar with it , you can just add Network ID/password to have your own private exclusive network.
