HI all!!!
I just got a new motherboard and i got a brand new CPU and I am using my other hardware I had before...When I plug in the power cord the computer comes on, but it does not boot. The fans start turning, but it does not boot up. The monitor will not show anything and the power and reset buttons do not work. Does anybody know how to fix this problem????? Thanks

Are you sure your using the right RAM for the board? Make sure your video card is properly seated also...

Best thing to do to check that all is working is to just have the following hooked up at first..
CPU w/fan
Memory
Video Card
Then boot up and see if you get the POST screen..

Also could help if we had some specs...
Mother board brand/model
Power supply
CPU
RAM

If the power button doesn't work, how does it turn on?

I would start with the power connectors. I just replace my motherboard in my other pc. I misplaced the power connectors .. missed by one pin :)

Thanks for all of your help...I figured it out...the motherboard can only handle 400mhz FSB and my new processor is a 533 mhz FSB. Anyways I bought a new board and it fits the processor...so therefore i should be alright. But thanks for you help and replies. have a nice day.

Check in device manager.. :-)

There are also several software proggys that work well (better than windows) Here is a pretty good one that will tell you just about anything you need to know about your PC http://www.sisoftware.net/index.html?dir=&location=home&langx=en&a=
its called SiSoftware Sandra

Cheers
