Is it possible to add surround sound to my home video DVDs? Is there a free or working demo program I can download that would allow me to do this?

check out http://www.sonicfoundry.com, they have a very nice DD 5.1 program, pricey but awesome! -tm

That is too expensive for home videos that I won't be selling to anyone. I also don't need 5.1 seperate channels, I just want some music in the front channels and sound effects in the rear channels. Is there another program I could use?

you would have to make it 5.1, you either have 2 channel or 5.1 channel. -tm

that's great and all but their is no software available right now that can transcode to pro logic II, only 5.1. - tm
