WinMX Network reply and incoming connection problems

I have been using WinMX for a few years without any problems until now. When I try to download anything it either never gets past the "waiting for network reply" message, or proceeds from that to "Waiting for an incoming connection". Very very rarely will it actually start downloading and then it dies before long.

I have tried:
-reinstalling
-updating
-changing coices and ports on my incoming TCP settings page
-changing coices and ports on my in/out UDP packets
-changing between primary and secondary connections
-going through the settings wizaed over and over again


I just don't know what else I can do. Any ideas?

I've noticed that WinMX network sux for a while. Use eDonkey2000 network.

Guys forget all that. Torrents my friends. Much more there in terms of pure files and anything else you may need. P2P has way to many virus's, torrents are a little more relaible.

actually, torrents themselves can contain virii/trojans, too.
plus, you have to look for the torrent by like going to webpages, its sorta easier to just search. of course theres torrentsearch.com heh.

have you installed anything over the past couple days?
firewalls, antivirus programs, etc?

I tried torrents for a little bit, but found that i'm too lazy for that. We've installed programs but nothing that should have an effect on this. I checked my anti-virus program and WinMX is still listed as having freedom to connect anytime it wants.
