Does anyone know what substantial problems the update(s) rectified? I just read the update history on Roxio's website but did not know exactly what it all meant.

It relates to another problem posted in another thread by me. MY FIRST!!!!

My post was yesterday before I actually ammended Toast w/ updates. Now it actually has a toogle near the red record button for Dual Layer Burning.

Backed up Appleseed w/Mac the Ripper and new Toast (well, newer to me). The dual layer disc played in my Toshiba SD-5980 standalone. Before the updates to Toast, DL's would not play in the Toshiba.

It did have a bad patch of skipping that was solved by repeatedly pressing play. This was not an isssue on my original.

Ever heard of this?

The disc had an area that looked strange. A thin line that looked like the laser may have caused an abnormality. Is this a product of crappy Memorex DVD+R DL's? Or with my Sony DRX-700UL external?

Yes, the old Memorex media is a good guess at your playback problem. If you have anymore MAC burning problems, we have a MAC forum at this link that may help you more. Good Luck.
