Well, my computer has been running pretty slow these days, so I figure its time for the usual reformat. But this time will be a little more difficult. You see, I popped in my Windows XP Pro Disc (Burnt copy), and I hit F11 at Startup to boot the disc, it says Press Any Key to Continue, so I do, and it just loads up as normal. I can run the computer normal, and boot the disc by going into My Computer, and Double-Clicking the Drive it is in, but all that can do is re-install a fresh copy of windows, and it doesn't wipe the drive. I've tried booting my computer with a Real XP Pro Disc, a Real XP Home Disc, a Windows 98 Disc. Well I just want to clear my hard drive and install a fresh copy of Windows XP Pro like I always do.
Don't tell me to use System Restore, because I've tried it, and it failed on numerous occasions. Don't tell me to hit F10 and save the changes in my bios, because I did.
I've used my disc to reformat about 20 times in the past, I do not understand why it does not work now. I doubt that both of my CD-Roms are shot, because they are able to function correctly, and run discs as per usual, and I have 2 CD-Roms, and I've tried them both to boot the disc at startup. Nothin.
You also might get this question alot, but any ideas as to why my computer freezes constantly during gameplay? I recently updated the ATI Drivers from the website about 3 days ago, I updated my sound driver, etc. Yet it still continues to freeze at random times in games. Especially in Counter-Strike, CS: Source, and Guild Wars.
If anyone can help me with either, I would be one happy little girl.... or boy.
