Gotta be Shrink or Shrink with a ripper or Shrink and Decrypter if Shrink can't read it. I guess I'm just Old School.

I rip the dvd using AnyDVD & clonedvd2 taking out all the previews, studio logos, and warnings.

Then I use Intervideo Dvd Copy 3 to encode the whole movie and clonedvd2 again to burn(dvd copy 3 burns to fast).

Tools of my preference :

DVD Ripping - DVDDecrpyter , DVDFab Decrypter ,CloneDVD2
DVD Editting - CloneDVD2, DVDShrink, VobBlanker , IFOEdit (tho its hard to learn at first you can do alot with it) and the almighty DVDRB (granted its mostly a DVD rebuilder/reencoder)

DVD Encoders - TMPEGEnc , TMPEGEnc DVD Author, Ulead DVD Studio / Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4, DVDRB 0.93.2, DVDRB 0.93.2 Pro (hope to get RC 1.00 soon)

Protection Breaking - DDVDecrypter , AnyDVD 5.2.7.1 , DVD43 (tho I have limited sucess with DVD43 so I mostly use AnyDVD)

For the vast majority of my backups I use the fastest easiest method : CDVD2 + AnyDVD or DVDecrypter + CloneDVD2/DVDShrink. For those dvds that I wanna keep higher quality on ie Hide and Seek, Hostage, Spawn 2 : war between Heaven and Hell I'll rip with Decrypter (remove UPOs, macrovision etc) and run thru DVDRB (either Free or pro version, depends on what I plan to do with end product) . With DVDRB, Ive been using ProCoder2 (upgrading to newest version later this wk) and / or HC encoder. procoder2 does good as job as CCE IMHO so why use CCE?

once again bbmayo, 1clickdvd has never used shrink engine. it is dvd cloner2. 1clickdvd is just great, try it or compare its quality with others(shrink,recode2,clone2,DVD2One ect...). also if/whenever any program gives you problems(ripping part), try 1click, its ripping capability is great. i have all these programs and they give me problems from time to time(slow ripping, stuck at ripping ect...)whenever this happen, 1clickdvd has done the job.

i always start out with either shrink, recode2 or clonedvd2 first.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

I use many programs:
1ClickDVD
DVDDecrypter
DVD43 and AnyDVD
CloneDVD2
DVDXCopy Plat
DVD CopyTools
DVDShrink
DVDRebuilder Pro
DVDRemake Pro
DVDCopy3
Nero
CopytoDVD

All of them work for me! So far I'm only over 320 or so burns! but I have a new supply of over 175 blank media ready and waiting! LOL Since I joined aD I don't have any coasters any more! It all starts with best media...... Rule of thumb..... if you can get it on your HD, you can burn the movie! And I've used DVD43 with DVDCopy3 and burned on the fly and it's allllllllll good! My disks have never been better! ;-)

I have this proggy and just about everyother proggy out there and frankly this is rated at the bottom of my list. I am not here to get in any debate with you over what is best and what is not. That wasen't what this thread was about, but you seem to want to make it that way. What tests have you ran on those disks that you did with 1clickDVD? I did numerous test's and the ones with that little proggy produced PIO error's that were off the charts. It may be easy and idiot proof, but quality it is not! Why don't you give Copy DVD 3 a try then put the disk made with DVDC3 and the one made with 1CDVD in your DVD player on the biggest screen TV you have now hit the zoom button a couple of times and see which one has pixels all over the place. If you can honestly say 1clickDVD is better than DVD Copy 3 well then you would be the first, and I am happy that you love this program so much and it works for you, but you are barkin up the wrong tree if you think for one second that I am going to say i like that program because I don't. I have never ever not once had a problem ripping any movie with DVD Decrypter so I don't know why you would have a problem with that. In the end it boils down to personal prefference and if your happy with 1crapDVD then so be it LOL :-) The biggest problem I have with that proggy is it's lack of functionality.

Look at your options... wow not very exciting for me ;-(

Something that puzzles me a little in your statement is you say you use other proggys first? Why if 1clickDVD is so great would you use something else first?

Good day all :-)

hi again bb. i never said 1click was the best. i said it was great and that it has help me at lot whenever shrink and even decrypter(which are better than 1click in more than one way)have failed me(decrypter way too slow or just stops due to new encryptions). shrink output is better in quality which is why i go to it first and it has more options. i have intervideo, the best out of all of them but, i have had so many problems with it that i have to stop using it.
so once again, 1click's output quality is not even better than shrink. intervideo's output quality is the best. in my opinion, as a ripper, 1clickdvd(crap) is better that most. remember as a ripper, which is the main reason i have come to like so much. lately

BB...... how many years have you been here?? I only have about 318 backups so far but I know what works for me and all the programs do! So, far I think for best quality is: DVDD, DVDRmake, DVDRebuilder, and then CopytoDVD, but I also love DVDCopy3 for it's speed and it's video quality! I use that to burn on HD and then CopytoDVD! real good!

Yes Yes Ihoe CCE/Rebuilder are by far the best quality nothing can beat the Cinema Craft Encoder!! Problem is most people don't know how and don't even want to try to use those proggys. So the next best choice in my opinion is DVDC3 for the average user. As you can tell from a lot of the post's here people seem to like simplicity and speed over quality :-) So for the record IMO CCE/Rebuilder would be the best choice for quality. DVD Copy 3 would be my second choice, and then probably believe it or not DVD Shrink/Decrypter combo :-)

Here are all the DVD/Video Authoring proggys I have used

Decrypter
Shrink
CloneDVD 2 (SlySoft)
AnyDVD
DVD43
CCE
DVD Rebuilder
Vob Blanker
DVD Copy 3
1ClickDVD
DVD Xcopy
VirtualDub
Nero Ultra 6
VSO DivXtoDVD
DVD Cloner 2
Clone DVD (DVD X Studios)
DVD Fab
AVI to DVD

and a buch more I can't even remember anymore :-) I have never really had a problem with any of those either but there are some I just wouldn't recommend because of quality....

After the death of 321, I tried a bunch of programs but have settled down to a few, mostly for monetary reasons I just can't invest in all of them. Now using AnyDVD Nero Recode2 with CopytoDVD. Use CloneDVD when doing episodic disks because I like to split and keep menus. Use Decrypter or CopytoDVD for dual layers both do a great job. Still like DVD Decrypter for ripping so far it has not failed. When you find what you are happy with there is no need to keep changing, however if programs come out and have a trial I will use them to see how the rate.

With the free version of DVD-RB installer and free encoders (QuENC, ReJig) that come bundled in I can't see any reason that everybody doesn't at least try these great freebies. The quality is still better than any 1 click app IMO especially when a lot of compression is required. It is slow (even slower than cce) but with the batch processing you can do several while you sleep or are at work.

i didnt mean to start a debate. i dont know if 1click ripped off shrink or not. i do know it is very simple and fast to use, and on the average movie it is what i use 1st.for the very rare flicks that i actually like, i run them through CCE. however ive just got dvd cpoy3 and i will be trying it out this weekend.

I use shrinkdvd. It's simple to use in editing out video and audio parts I don't need, it's free, and I never had any problems with it. I also use IFOEdit which I like and I use sometimes to split a DVD but i don't do that much anymore because it is a pain to switch disks in the middle of a movie. I usually just do the movie only. If I want the extras I usually just put them on another disk so my movie is the best quality it can be. For burnning I use RecordNow that came with my sony DVD burner. I never had any problems there either at least after I learned all the tricks.
