I have backed up LOTS of dvd via dvdshrink. I had trouble with some Frasier disks - ran into read errors after 3-4 GB on all of them & ended up with only partial rips. 'shrink doesn't see the resulting vobs so I fell back to dvd2avi which did see them and got something that tmpgenc would see as input files (a2v & ac3)then used tmpegenc to create dvd but tmpeg produced mpg files instead of vobs. People say mpg is vob, but nero doesn't think so - won't allow mpg files in dvd VIDEO-TS file. What can i do with these mpg files? dvdrhelp has no guide for converting mpg to vob. I don't want SVCD CDs, but would be willing to settle for svcd format on dvd, giving me adequate quality for this material w 7X the space, but I haven't seen how to do that either.

how do I make video dvd w these mpg files? not w nero to burn mpg files to dvd? what device would play it? Are these newbie questions?
