i've backed up plenty of games in the past. i know how to and i've never had a problem. i have a laptop and a desktop computer. both have dvd burners. i backed up 2 games today on the laptop because neither would work on the desktop computer. i use nero on both computers but it won't load completely on the desktop one. i have also tried decrypter. i can however back up any dvd with no problem. on my desktop computer i use a pioneer dvd-rw burner. has anyone had any problems with pioneer before?

What game are you burning? What do you use to boot it?

i backed up sonic mega collection and tony hawk underground on my laptop...they both work fine using swap magic...like i said, i've done this stuff before. the problem is, burning ps2 games was never a problem on my desktop computer and now they won't burn. in fact, my burner doesn't even start to read the discs, it won't load after the games are in the burner. movies still burn. i had to use my laptop to burn the 2 games.

what media and speed are ya burning?

some burners tend to like different media (also +r to -r or -r to +r) better than others

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (Conroe) @ 3.1ghz
OCZ 2x1024MB PC6400 Ram
eVGA 8800gtx

Hey that happened to me, but with CD instead of DVD. My Drive stills reads and write DVDs but cannot read or burn CDs.

that's the problem...i can't burn the games...my dvd burner won't even read them, i can't create an iso file to put onto a blank dvd. i know what i'm doing with the whole burning stuff. my question is why would my dvd burner be giving me a problem even reading the games.

serrano - what kind of burner do you have? we have 2 sony vaio computers in the house and both have pioneer burners that i'm pretty sure have the same problem (i don't use the other computer)

so i tried everything with my burner. i can burn dvds fine using decrypter or shrink, i can burn cds fine using Nero, but i can't burn playstation 2 games using Nero or decrypter. can anybody give me a reason why i wouldn't be able to burn games, but i can burn dvds? i have been able to burn games in the past using both Nero and decrypter and just recently it stopped working.

i use a pioneer dvd-rw dvr-106d and the only thing it won't read is playstation 2 games.
