I made a back up of Burnout 3 and recorded it at 1x on a FujiFilm DVD+R. When I do the whole swap magic thing and the game loads up it keeps freezing and it takes 20 minutes just to get to the menue. Sorry if this question has been asked by someone but i'm pulling my hair out!

Try burning it faster, say at 4X

Change the media you are using, Fuji DVD's are probably okay for films, but for games you need quality media such as Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. As far as speed of burning goes, keep it as slow as possible, 2x speed should do it nicely. If it was your Swap magic, I would expect it not to load at all, so you definitely need to look at the media, would suggest you go somewhere where you know the TY disks are genuine (these are my 1st choice for game backups) if in UK look at SVP for the TY disks.

@shinpso,

The possibility of errors keep on freezing could be an operator's fault on this. I never backed up at 2X whatsoever period. I've always backed up using 8X (95% most of the time) and 4X (5% rarely) and it all turns out successfully. I owned a SONY DRU 710A byx4 dvd/cd Dual Layer burner and I've backed up all my PS2 games and dvd movies on FUJI 8X DVD+R "MADE IN JAPAN" [code: YUDEN000-T02-00] at roughly around 500 plus -- it backed up and play flawlessly. According to my knowledge and experiences, the "FUJI DVD+R"is Taiyo Yuden [or its id code is YUDEN when verified the blank disc]. Taiyo Yuden/FUJI is a top notch media in the market. Other good quality medias are Maxell, Verbatim and SONY. However, make sure it's a "DVD+R" and it says "MADE IN JAPAN".

What version is your PS2? If it's a v4 or lower, then you need to set the booktype to DVD-ROM. That'll make it easier for your PS2 to read, play and load better.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.
