I have a Copy/Burnt DVD that won't play on my PC but will play on my DVD player. I've use all the DVD software that I have to try to play the Copy DVD on my PC because I was going to make a copy myself. It's a TDK DVD-R 8x. Could there be a protection on that DVD that AnyDvD can't pick up. I've tried all the regions also. Does anybody have a clue to this situation.

that's an odd one, usually it's the other way around. Will play on the PC but not on the standalone player. It's not copy protection if it's already been burned onto a disc. You have to pull that off when ripping the DVD the first time.

Are you using the same drive that burnt the disc for playback. I had a problem where burnt disks would not playback on my Hitachi DVD-ROM GD-5000 drive. They would playback on the Plextor 708A burner or the standalone units. If I used DVD+R and changed booktype to DVD-ROM they would playback in either PC drive and the standalone. Never got DVD-R to work in the Hitachi. The Hitachi plays original (Pressed) disks ok. This may not be your problem but hopefully the info may help.

Try disabling AnyDVD. If the CSS protection has been removed, during the backup process on a copied disk, AnyDVD can mess up playing or ripping it on a PC.

I guess prlumbee went walkabout ...

If the backup was done with DXC, then CSS is still on the copy. That's what Robert Moore thought his edge would be in his court case.

I just threw in a DVD X Copy copied movie in my drive and anydvd came up and said "Media is not CSS protected." DVD Decrypter also said N/A for the key without anydvd enabled.
