Hi,
I got a Lite-On DVD installed today on my computer--model 1673--arniebear helped me yesterday and I am having a problem changing the booktype setting in Decrypter--when I go to the Lite-On tab, there are 2 settings to be made--the first says "change for" then has a drop down box with the first option being "next write" and then current media then several options regarding media type--ie. Drive-DVD+RW (DL) and Drive- DVD+R, then a couple that end with EEPROM--
The next drop down box says New Setting--one of the choices is DVD-Rom, which I know is what I want--Can anyone tell me what to set the first drop down box to?
The DVD Writer also came with Nero which I installed except for the In-CD part--I heard that conflicts with many programs--the Nero that came with the writer is the OEM Suite--I can't find Nero Re-Code--where is that? Or maybe it does not come with this version--
Any help would be greatly appreciated--Thank you

Whitfield

All you need is the lite-on booktype utility. It will change the booktype on dvd+r to dvd-rom automatically with all burning apps. Here is the link and you can also find a usage guide there too.

BTW the only oem version of nero that comes with recode is nero oem suite 3.

Mort
Thank you very much for the info and the link--having trouble "joining" that forum/website(CD Freaks)--they say they will send me e-mail--then DO NOT.--or name already in use(which IS me!) etc.--Something I am doing wrong I guess--will keep trying---Also will now try burning a DVD ROM and verify with DVD InfoPro--just downloaded the newest version--that will say it is now a DVD-ROM--right?
Also, if I could bother you just a little more--will any of my other burning programs change the bittsetting--I have Sonic "Record Now" version 6-5-1 and often burn ISO movie files from it (4X)AFTER Shrinking--Nero OEM version--oh--and also Clone DVD (Love it--I ALWAYS have AnyDVD running while decrypting)--Thanks again for the info--off to Burn!

I think that if you follow Mort81's advice and use the Lite On utility the booktype will remain DVD-ROM for DVD+R media regardless of the burn program used just as Mort81 said.

Whitfield,

Here's another link to the lite-on booktype utility. Official lite-on website even. http://www.liteonit.com.tw/ODD/English/e_downloads/e_utility.asp
