Why exactly can you not make a 100% perfect backup of a playstation or PS2 game without having to mod or use other methods to boot the game. Please give me the technical details! Also, is there some sort of software that will enable this? Any input is greatly appreciated!

Basically theres a burst cutting area (or BAC) which household burners can't emulate. You'd need one of the actual machines that the companies use to make ps2 games which cost thousands. Not worth it compared to the price of a mod-chip

Another question: how can I get a PS2 emulator to work (I don't know how to transfer the BIOS). I have a new, slim one

I thought that mods disable some games. How do you overcome this?

Mods don't disable any games, and if they do theres normally a sleep or turn off mode. Do you mean an emulator for the ps2 e.g snesstation, or a emulator for pc which plays ps2 games.

I mean one for the PC. At least, one that runs on the PC.

That I don't know, I've heard good things from PCSX2, but I don't think any of the emulators can play very many games. We're talking 10 tops.

I just had a wild, probobly stupid idea. If PS2 games are "pressed" for mass production like CDs, could you somehow use some kind of cley to press into the microscopic pits? Then the cley could harden, and you could press it into another blank disk. This is just a crazy idea.

I'm not really sure what they do to this BAC but I think its some sort of random pattern, so I don't know about using clay.

So what? Cley can immitate anything, unless the actual pits are covered in plastic or something like that.

Maybe I'll try to do it with different types of cley on an old CD. I'll post my results later. I have a feeling that the cley won't hold, so I'll have to use some kind of super-strong cley, maybe even glue that won't stick to plastic, so it can be peeled off. I might be able to use a pile of books to press the pattern into the blank disk.

I used to open up Nero, and click on Copy Entire Disc, and never had any problems. I haven't done it in a few months, maybe the games have changed?? I'm going to give it a shot later tonight.
