Recently my ps2 has been makin a loud clicking noise, so i opened it up and looked at the thing that moves the lazer. I noticed that the plastic that attaches to the long threaded pole which moves the lazer keeps coming off, because the lazer stops moving. Or it moves the lazer all the way to the bottom and then keeps trying to move the lazer causing the loud clicking noise. Anyone know how to fix this:\ i already had it replaced. and i sprayed wd40 on slides which have stopped the lazer from stopping, but it still moves all the way to the bottom and contiunes to try and move it. Help needed, thanks.

are you trying to add more friction?
Correct me if im wrong but wouldnt wd40 act as a lube and give less friction?

yes it would but i'm surprised you didn't kill your ps2 by doing that. mine makes a clicking noise when playing certain games with dvd-r discs. my originals don't

thanks for the reply but i figured it out. i put a drop of wd 40 on the part that touches the bars and moved it so it covered the whole bar. now it runs flawless, which just proves, everything can be solved with lube.

The slider would stop and the plastic would click as the threads tried to push it. attach the long thin tube to the wd 40, spray it(not at the ps2) then touch the bars with the drop accumilated at the end of the hose, then manually move the slider so its evenly distrubed. Clicking noise gone.
