that's about a 30% OC...generally, a rule of thumb is don't go higher than 10%...if you can afford it and want more speed, get a new processor/motherboard.
*edit*
unless you take the proper precautions, you're very liable to fry your compie.

if you want to maximize that processor, OC it to about 1 GHz and put Linux on it. then you'll have yourself and excellent server for everything from your internet connection to printer, as well as a great back-up pc.

instead of changing the cpu speed to 1200 MHz, change it to 1000 MHz...there, 1 GHz. :-)

for older, slower pc's, it's a godsend. stable and very easy on systems, linux is the single best OS there is. while, overall, there's not much software for it, it has at least one decent proggy for everything. if you're going to do anything modern with that ol' pc, convert it to linux.

then quit worrying about your old processor, as you're not going to get much out of it anyway. what OS are you currently running? do you plan on using this processor in another rig?

leave the 900 speed as is because you'll have to get a bigger & better heatsink & fan to get rid of the increased oc heat. there are bench mark programs out there so do a search. run the program before & after you oc but still suggest don't oc
