n00b here - cant get my backup to play

Im using Alcohol 120

I boot up - copy the NANOBREAKER image to my desktop - then burn it to a DVD-RW...

I have Swap Magic for my PS2 (latest version)

I boot the backup and it says it is not a valid PS2 disc....be gentle, what do i need to do to back up my collection here?

hey xbanimal, first off i can see one major problem, you cannot use a DVD-RW, ps2 cannot read these disks, try using a dvd -r. That should do the trick, if that doesnt work at least your on the right road using the proper media. If the above does fix your problem, write back and ill go through the burning method to use okay

black_ice - i just wanted to say thanx! it turns out all i was doing wrong was using the incorrect media type - what a silly oversight - thanx for getting me on the right track! NANOBREAKER backup works great! Im looking forward to backing up all my stuff and keeping it safe now!

just so you guys know... some ps2s do read rw discs. both - and + rw just depends on the system.

Im just interest, because ive read countless pages saying that the ps2 does not like Cd or Dvd rw's. And that under no circumstance should they be used for PS2 games?
