I used to have kodaks DX7440, it was 4 mp,(around 200) and that's really enough mp that you need, the 6.1 mp model is nice too, around 50 dollars more. This series in kind an entry camera to professional photography, there is 16 different modes that varies with different factors, everything is changable in the modes, there is a fully manual mode, and an automatic mode, which takes the guess work out of everything, this is good for everything. And dont assume the more mega pixels the better, it depends on alot more than that, and you wont be printing 5'x5' pictures, so dont opt for the high mp camera,

good choice for photo newbies. little weak on the zoom. i would have take the 4 megapixel sony but its too late for that now. i think like two weeks ago they had a $70 mail in rebate if you purchased with a canon printer.

yeah the zoom is weak. I also got the printer with it so i will be getting $70. I got it at newegg. This was my first digial camera i got to say it's pretty cool. I didn't know that if you use cheap photo paper the picture doesn't come out good.

if you have a canon printer you HAVE to get canon paper or else you wont like the prints. generic brand is ok for ink, but dont use for paper. i dont use any generic stuff on my printer, i dont want the print heads to get clogged. which printer are you getting? get canon photo glossy plus. make sure you set the settings for your specific paper or you'll get long white streaks on the prints.

So i should buy a canon paper. I have pixma 3000. What about the ink?
Do i have to buy from canon? I bought on from gg. IT was at supermediastore.com. Is that bad.

Edit: what do you mean by cloged? I new to the printer thing so i don't know that much about it.

i have the same printer. i would get canon photo paper, the same as the one that is inluded with the printer. as for the ink, generic ink is ok but i wouldn't risk my printer for saving like five bucks when i order ink. print head clogging occurs more easily with generic ink. make sure you run printer head cleaning every couple of weeks or so. here's a site with some printer tips for all sorts of maintenance and troubleshooting: http://www.maxpatch.com/printertips.html
