I have to go through a proxy. I have provided the right authentication details and verified the settings on firefox. However I am still getting HTTP Error 407 - which suggests that streambox is not able to provide the right authentication details to the proxy. Is there a fix for this?

I do not think that Streambox VCR will work if the proxy needs authenication. The program was only released as a beta before it's development stopped, and I don't think that any username and password authentication was ever working, even though the information can be entered.

Try using other streaming media recording software. There are many to chose from.
