Hello all, I've been coming here for a while, but only recently signed on. Question. I created an iso in Clone DVD,from a movie file already on my hard drive, imported the iso into DVD Decrypter for writing to a DL-DVD (Verbatum)disc. The DVD was originally ripped to my hard drive in file mode using DVD Decrypter. My DL-DVD's have been playable in all 4 of my stand alone players, including a portable Panasonic, even my 6x and 8x burns on DL Verbatum Inkjet Printable media. Here's the log from my burn. I don't see evidence of the layer break and I have not yet burned this movie, not too sure if it'll work. The movie was The Incredibles. Any ideas?
Thanx in advance.

Decrypter did not save the layer break info in the .iso. You need to have the MDS file instead to have that information. You set that up on the Tools -> Settings -> ISO Read Mode tab. That is a default setting so there may be one created already.

Under the ISO Write tab there is a button selected by default for Decrypter to calculate the Optimal layer break so that may work OK.

There is an option under Tools to create an MDS file as well but I'm not sure how that works.

You should probably re-rip in the ISO read mode and then use the MDS file.

Thanks for the rapid reply, but Clone DVD did not generate a mds file. I don't want to burn the current iso created in Clone, as I'm unsure if it will work or not. I did open Decrypter and as you suggested, there is an option under tools that will generate a mds. I chose the iso created in Clone and ticked on create mds. This is my last DL disc and I just want to be sure that it's as good as the 12 others I've burned. I'm going to drag the mds generated in Decrypter to Shrink and see if it'll come out ok. Still have plenty on single layer media. Thanks.

Ok, Shrink took the generated mds file and I burned it to a single layer disc. I'm playing it back now to check things out. If all is well, I'll use my last DL disc. I only use DL media for movies that I really like and as you know, they're still expensive. Seems to be working though, hasn't skipped or paused once. Thanks.

I was messing around with Decrypter and saw that option. I didn't know what you had to open to create the MDS. I usually have an iso laying around but I cleaned them all out the other day. I assumed you had to click an iso and you confirmed it. Thanks!

BTW welcome aboard!
