compared to a p3 its a great cpu
compared to a AMD FX-55 your falling behind
if it does everything you want it to it cant be that bad??

i thought they suck but for the price you really cant go wrong.
i can get battlefield 2 running playable with 512 of ram, an fx5200 and a sempron 2500.
The same pc ran half life 2 on all medium details 40+ fps.
We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent...

your cpu is pretty good~ at least for the pentium 4 platform it is~ i was about to get something like that before i decided to spend a few bucks more and get the extreme edition, DEFINITELY worth the money as the speed increase is DRAMATIC...my friend bought your exact, identical chip..we have same motherboards...same memory config. on tests my chip blew his out of the water in every category~
but, it really depends on what you are using it for..all in all, it's a very good cpu~ :) it gets MUCH hotter than mine as well...as the prescott chips heat up MUCH more than my northwood 478 chipset one~ :)
i run Geforce 6800 ultra in my comp, i prefer nvidia over ati, but, hey, that's just MY OWN preference~ :)

last time i checked it ran freecell and solitare just fine, for games i prefer to use a console, least i dont have to upgrade those everytime a new game comes out.
And thats like me saying your lack of hard drive space, only 1 gb of ram, single optical drive, not to mention your case (wheres the side window??how come you can only fit 6 hard drives in it??) and i dont even know what your power supply is but i may as well have a crack at it as well SUCKS. And a search for Intel desktop board d9126gavl only returned this thread, so if i cant find it that must suck as well.
Do you see where im going with this?? My computer is used to archive movies and tv (should change my sig, got a capture card now). Thats it, nothing else, and therefore i have absolutely 0 need for a fast graphics card

all p4s run hot, thats a fact of life, its why intel wants to go to btx motherboards to improve cooling
You can cool them down a bit by changing out the stock heat sink for something a bit better and using good quality thermal paste. Also clean the fan blades every so often

open my computer, right click in a free area, go to properties, the general tab will tell you cpu speed and type, and ram amount
or download cpu-z which will tell you everything you need to know
