would appreciate it if someone could tell me simply what this buffalo software does. i have upgraded my 109 to an a09 and have used the quite drive utility to improve ripping speeds which it has done but think iread here somewhere that this could be improved upon. it is taking me approx 34 mins to decode a dvd that has not been done before using any dvd and then clone dvd (latest versions) about 7 mins for a decrypted disk.

the buffalo firmware provides the once thought "non-booktype" capable pioneer into one that can booktype~ (change DVD+R format media into the most compatible dvd-rom format)

that is the only reason i changed to the buffalo firmware as im a DVD+R guy and now am all the more pleased :) in terms of rip speed, i use my other drive for ripping, so, i personally wouldn't know or have tried to see if the ripping is faster...
