This has never happened to me before. Recently I used swap magic 3.6..i used my slide card to open the disk tray. I put in Destroy all humans, and have tryed other games. Every once in a while(about half the time) after a close the tray with my slidecard, i load the disk, and it will go back to the ps2 menu where you can see ur memory card logo. then it will read the backup and say not a ps2 disk. Why is this happening?

you probably need to clean your ps2 lens.a cottpn swab and alcohol works best.

unplug the ps2.at the bottom of the ps2 are removeable tabs that have screws underneath them.there should be 8-10 of them.take them out so you can take off the cover.when you take the cover off ,do it slowly so you dont rip the resert ribbon that is connected to the cover and to the ps2.it may be taped to the top of the dvd tray.you take that tape off so you can take the cover off.now with the cover off,take the 4 or2 screws out of the dvd tray cover(you need a tiny jewelers screwdriver) and take the dvd tray cover off.youll see the lens now.take a cotton swab and dip it in rubbing alcohol then squeeze out the excess.gently wipe the lens a few times then use the dry end of swab and gently wipe dry a few times.then repeat if you want to ensure it is clean.you can test a game with the cover off,just put the dvdtray back on before you plug it in.just in case you would want to clean it again before you put the cover back on.
