im new to this forum. ok heres the story iv had swap magic and slim tool pro for about 3 weeks and works perfect. the first game i burnt was midnight club 3 on a Verbatim DVD+R 4x disk. but i have finished with thoses disk so i bought some Verbatim DVD+R 16x. i burnt fifa street and loaded the game, the game loads fine but it is freezing at different moments and sometimes takes forever to load. i then burnt the same game using Verbatim DVD+R 4x that my friend gave me and they worked fine. so what is wrong? this may help you to solve this problem, when i am chosing the speed to burn at the Verbatim DVD+R 16x only has the speed 2.4x whereas the Verbatim DVD+R 4x has speeds from 1x to 4x so what is wrong any help is wicked, thanks

Sometime if you load up your burning program before putting in the black dvd which is going to be burnt to, the program restricts the speed options, try loading the disk first and then the program if this dosent solve your problem then ger your hands on some of those other disk

I recommend 4x for burning ps2 back ups

huppal, I had the same problem with 16x and 8x disc, the reason was that my burner is capable of up to 16x,so when I put in a 16x disc it wants to burn at the fastest speed and would only go down to 8x, then I got the 8x disc and it would only let me go down to 4x, so then I said ok and got 1x-4x disc (All of these disc have been verbatim) and lowest it would write at is 4x, so then I put back in my 4x burner that came with my hp and it then would let me write at 2.4 with the 4x disc. Just because you pick 1x or 2x or 4x in DVD decrypter doesn't mean that is what are going to write at, If you look at the very right when you put in the blank disc you'll see a bunch of writing telling you different thing about the disc and one of them will say supported write speeds and this is the speeds your drive will let you choose to write at with that disc (EXM..2.4x,4x is what I see with my hp writer and with my 16x burner I see just 4x}

so I would put in one of those disc and check and see what speeds it says it supported. Just make sure your in ISO write to see it.

How True, DVD Decrypter is great but will burn at what it see's as the best speed. With my 8X discs i set it to burn at 1X, but if you look at the information box at the bottom it will tell you the actual speed it is burning at, mine do 3.8X which works every time.

I use 4X and 8X Philips DVD-R myself. I don't buy above 8X speed.
What speeds does your burner say it does +R discs at?
