DVD region 2 with DvdShrink

Hi,

I recently shrinked a dvd with region code 2 with dvdshrink, once I burned the dvd I tried to play this in my region free standalone dvd player (sony dv4000d) and I would get the following error:
"playback prohibited for region code" , if I turn the dvd player off and then on with the remote controle the dvd would play but in black and white and the screen is also moving up and down. As I understand dvdshrink has a region decrypter built in but somehow this didn't work.

Does anybody has some advice?

If I remember correctly, Region 2 movies are in PAL format. You might try encoding it to NTSC with Nerovision Express(available for a 30 day trial). Don't know what PAL and NTSC are? Check the glossary at the top of the page...
