I am looking at building my own computer and when i was looking at motherboards i got confused about sockets. What is the difference between all the CPU sockets( socket T, LGA 775, socket 370, socket 478, socket 478/LGA 775, socket 479, Dual PGA 603) and which one would be better for a Pentium 4 processor 3.0Ghz or higher.

the #'s represents the # of pins on the cpu so you can't put a socket 370 cpu into a socket a(462) or a socket 775 cpu into a socket 939.

ps. shouldn't multi-post as against forum rules
