Azureus download very slow

i am using win xp sp 2 firewall but have opened up the port 53000 which i am using in azureus and added azureus program to the exceptions list. I do not use a router.
What should be the max no. of connections per torrent i should set to? Currently, its 200. And the max no. of global connections per torrent? Currently. its 400.
any other things that i can tweak? i have a 256 up line which i cap the upload speed at 22kb/s btw...

If possible, set your upload to infinite, or close to your max, 256. Then, divide this by 5 or 10, and set this number as your number of upload slots. I would also change connections globally to 0, aka infinite.

You should cap it at about 26 KB/s, that should be the sweet spot.

DVDBack, I have sort of come to know you through your posts next to mine, and I would like to say, you have some respectable information and I know you have some decent knowledge of Azureus. Therefore I am asking, why would this speed be the best on a 256 line? I am not implying that you are wrong...Just curious. I have only a 100KB upload and I constantly upload 75-100. I usually get my maximum download speed as well, 150KB.
I am trying to not offend you lol, I feel sort of bad after the last time I made the mistake...

Dont worry im not offended :)
Well...he has a 256 kb/s upload which translates to about 32 KB/s, so the sweet spot is about 80% of this number, or..26 KB/s.
I have a 907 kb/s upload, which translates to about 115 KB/s and i normally upload at 94 KB/s, which is about 75% because, i found that is my sweet spot for torrents.

yup. thanks. i think 22-26kb/s works well for me. it takes an awful long time before Azureus gets warmed up! for me, speeds are best late at night...
