Hi there,

You want to protect the DVD that you make, so no one can copy them ?

Good luck, software like AnyDVD / DVD Decrypter are there to remove any existing protection out there, so you can copy any DVD movie out there, even with the best commercial protection that exists...

As far as I know, it can't be done. Maybe if you had a commercial DVD production machine and you got ahold of the Macrovision company ... Ah hell, it just isn't worth it!

Here is a way. If you use DVD Cloner 2 you can make it work. Decode the movie. When the movie is in the folder and it ask you to insert a blank disc hit cancel. Then browz to the folder where it is at and then burn it. Will play perfect in a DVD player, but for some reason no computer can then read it to make a copy of it...strange but true. The normal way would be to insert a blank disc. Which any computer can then can copy it.

Don't loan them out!

Scratch them up!This will cause crc errors.

Burn the ps2 games on memorex discs! It's harder to re-rip a backup if it is on cheap crappy media. This will also cause crc errors.

It will work the same way as I wrote above. Use DVDD if you need to and make a disc. Then use DVD Cloner 2 and read the game as I wrote above. Does not matter if it's a game or movie.

why would you want your backups to be uncopyable? are you selling them and trying to ensure more business or something?

don't let anyone with a modded ps2 get their hands on it. That's copy protection right there.

m_milkov,

Get HD Advance & Maxtor HDD. Copy it to HDD and destroy all cd/dvd evidence. That way anybody can't get a hold of your backup to duplicate from.

Hi m_milkov,

I think you are trying to hard to make something other can easily break.

All the current protection can easily be cracked, removed.
It's one reason why these forums are real populor !

Good luck !

Does macrovision work on CDs? If it does work on CDs, you might want to give that a try. Right now, I having problems recording VHS to DVD because of the macrovision issue. I know there's equipment out there, but their a little out of my price range for backing up my older VHS.

 ... @KCflyGuy ...

... As far as the Macrovision problem that you're encountering while backing up your VHS collection ... You may want to try a trick that I've had 100% success with ... I have a LiteOn LVW-5005 and what I do is start the DVD recorder before I play the tape letting the recorder run for 10-15 seconds ... I then start the tape ... Voila! Macrovision has been fooled! I'm not sure if this works with all DVD recorders, but it sure works with both of my LiteOn recorders ...

 ... Good Luck ...

catfreak,

I noticed that there's a firmware update for the Liteon/Ilo. Just noticed on another thread on AD. I am wondering...since I do have a Ilo DVDR05...if it will work on my dvd recorder.

Saw this link on a thread, http://ilohacker.tripod.com/ will it work with my recorder? If it does then great...Ilo may be even better than my other dvd recorder (Daewoo DVRS04).

PS2 backups only play on consoles with a modification of one sort or another, so no-one will be able to play your back-ups without also having a mod done to their console.
Making back-ups of any game is supposed to be for personal use only, so there is no reason other than theft that your backups should end up in the hands of other people.
If your disks are stolen, it?s very likely that whoever get hold of them won?t know what to do with them anyway.

If however you are supplying copies of games to a community of users with modded consoles and have decided to try and ensure no-one is able to reproduce and sell your copies on, and thus cut you out the loop.
Then you are firstly breaking the law secondly breaking forum rules, by trying to get us to aid you, and thirdly taking the p*ss.

Back to the original question, I would also like to enable some sort of copy protection onto DVD's, but it is on films.
I have produced an educational DVD which I know will be copied by the clued up people out there, but I still want to protect it from general copying by the less tech savvy people that it will be aimed towards.

However it does appear to be far easier to get around encryption than to put it on, unless you are prepared to pay silly money, but even then it?s not easy using RipGuard and ACP as an example.
