My friend has a linksys router with speed booster and from time to time the connection drops between his laptop and his other computer. Has anyone else experience this problem and know of a solution to fix it?

Yes. I assume this a Wireless G router with G express. Turn off the Booster. That should fix your problem. Should not need it anyway. Some wireless cards dont handle the boost very well.

Hey thanks for helping me on my other post :P but anyways how do you turn off the speed booster? Also I have another question for ya..:) Is it possible to share his internet connect wirelessly from a house away? We tried it before with a USB Network Adapter B and it got a connection but I figured since he has a Speedbooster Router G that we should get the USB Network Adapter G with speedbooster.. if turning off the speedbooster on the router; will it affect the speed of the connection one house away?

Yes, it may slow down communications to your a equipment slightly. Don't expect a 100Mps without it. For testing reasons just turn it off to see if it fixes things. How exactly to do this depends on the make of the router. There should be a setting in the router menus for this. Different ways for different routers.
