Hello people.
I've been trying to make a backup of Devil May Cry 3, but to no avail; when I did it with Nero and Intenso DVD-R, it only loaded and displayed the Playstation 2 screen and then went dark. Same happened with DVD Decrypter and Intenso DVD-R. With Nero and Maxell DVD-R it didn't even load. Could you please tell me what's wrong? My PS2 is modded and it plays other coppied games just fine. My chip doesn't need swap magic or anything like that, you're supposed to insert the game and you're set. Steimy told me to rebuild it and I did so, but after I was done the game wouldn't even load. It skipped (just as with the Maxell disk) and made a loud noise as if it were scratching something on the inside.

Please help people! I have 5 coasters up until now, and I really want this game :(

You could try using other media (Verbitam), but I have heard that Maxwells are good tho.

good media
TDK, Verbatim, Philips, Ritek G04
any of those will work better than an off brand.

I have a Pioneer DVD Burner...I'm gonna try again by rebuilding the game on a Maxell DVD and if that fails I'll go buy some better media...should I buy TDK or Verbatim?

I have used both.... and in my experience I would have to recomend Verbitams (Note: Get the DATAPlus DVD-R's)

Are you trying to make a backup from an original disc or from a dl'ed image? If its from a dl'ed image then it might just be the image. Even if other people say they got it to work by rebuilding the image sometimes it just doesn't work for some people for one reason or another.

As for those Maxells, I have a v4 ps2 and it doesn't like those very much.

yeah Maxcells and Memorex i tried when i was a newbie to burning.
didn't have much luck with games, worked ok for movies.
If you start wasting too many discs PM me again and i will have a solution for you that will solve it once and for all.
But go out and get some good media first.

Verbatim datawrite plus dvd-r's - the best full stop. ive had a 100% success rate with them, never had a game that did not boot when written at 4x speed and the iso wasnt corrupt.

Maybe your chip doesn't like the game? Might wanna try a different chip or try copying a different copy of dmc3... sometimes games are pressed wrong at the factory... can cause problems when burning... I've had that happen to me before...

V3.10 60gb PS3
V5.50 GEN D-2 Limited Edition Crisis Core PSP
V7 Clear Blue PS2 w/Fliptop
Swap Magic V3.6
