My DVD writer is failing to recognise any blank CDs or DVDs After it was ejected while it was writing It can read any CD or DVD but won't burn giving an error message saying not insert writeable CD. How can I solve this problem? My machine is a compaq presario laptop

What program were you using when trying to burn? It sounds like a packet writing software, which is unreliable at best.
