Limited knowledge of building a pc from scratch but i though id give it a go. Got myself an pentium 4, 3.4ghz processor with an ABIT AA8 3rd eye motherboard.
Looking for pretty decent spec throughout the system, so any ideas when it comes to the remainder of the parts, wheres best to go (UK). Im looking for the following parts, so if iv missed any out, please let me know.

Case + 450w psu - looking to spend up to £50
200gb hardrive, 7200rpm, 8mb cache - spend up to £70
2gb worth of ddr2 memory - spend up to £130
PCI-e graphics card - suggestions on a decent one anyone
DVD rom - £25
CD-rw (got an external dvdrw)£25
Cooling - again any suggestions appreciated

to save some money get cdr/w & dvd combi

Don't use the PSU that comes with your case... no doubt it will suck and die and not regulate voltage well.

I don't know how much dollar is to a pound (Euro, whatever) but here you could get a nice 250gb 16mb cache from Maxtor that would beat any 8mb drive on the market (except for 10k rpms) for $110. Depending on how much money you want to spend on a GFX card, get a geforce 7800GTX for the very best or 6800GT/Ultra.

Thermalright XP-90 or 120 with panaflo fan for CPU cooling. get a case with 120mm fans for quietness and more airflow. You're gonna have to spend more than $50 (couldn't find the pound sign) on your case and PSU, mainly because you'll need a better psu that can handle all the components you'll be getting.
