Hi there,
When you say you can't write at 8x, do you mean 8x is NOT an option in the burn speed, or it lets you select 8x, just never burns that fast ?
I suggest you try to burn with nothing running in the background.
Turn off Antivirus, Firewalls, all those small programs that runs, then try again.
I have lots of stuff running on my PC, and I never select 4x because I know it will never burn at 4x (Because the PC is too busy).
I always average around 3.1x - 3.5x but this is by choice !
I keep everthing running and burn at 2.0x and I get 100% results.
So maybe your PC is just too busy, it can't feed the the burner so it can't reach high speed burning !
