Just installed GEForce 6800GT.....playing Pariah....also Medal of Honor Pacific Assault...both games lag about 1/2 hour into them. 5 cooling fans.....puzzling....sucks when you can't move....and the enemy can...lol
garlic and olive oil.....makes a person sound...maybe a little mayo too...forget the mayo...had a stint put in.....

are you using the latest driver as there might be a problem with the driver. did you check games' sites for patches, updates & faq??

Yes, went to nvidia's site and d/l the new drivers, funny it's both games, wonder if i should SLI...but have been told that that card is strong enuf for just about any game out there. Puzzling. The chip stays at 48 degrees C, and the chipset hovers around 45. Driving me up a wall, all this, and still lagging......

obviously its pci express if hes talking about sli. bklyn1028, what processor, memory, and hard drive are you running?

pci express....amd athlon 3500+ asus a8n-sli 1gig memory 1 hitachi 120 gb running in a stripe raid, with a 120 gb external hd

yeah i think if you have one card in an sli board you are sopposed to put the card in the bottom slot.

I am now thinking of getting another gigabyte 6800GT and going sli, so many mixed reviews tho

If the games start out fine and then only start lagging after 1/2 hour of playing, then SLI isn't going to help anything. Try playing on low settings and see if it still does it after 1/2 hour. You did say you can play fine for 1/2 hour right, and then it lags?

actually i just d/l a demo of FEAR, and it started lagging right into the game (about 5 min), my cpu temp hovers around hi 40s C....and gpu temp had never hit 40....system temp stays in hi 30s...soooo...temps seem to be fine, strange..this is a mother of a card.....boggling me
